It would be tough for me to recommend a fwd car in a state that prides itself in it’s wilderness. Driving around in Boston or Portland or even in Anchorage proper in 2wd is fine. But where we live, enjoying the wilderness and driving in a similar state with a 2wd car makes me feel like I have a choke collar on. We have mud severe enough to require 4wd and some ground clearance which is better then when we moved in when only trucks could travel through. There has to be much of Alaska that you could surely miss without a good 4wd truck with a gun rack.
