Will side airbags deploy on a rear end collision. If you back into a car, will the side airbags deploy?

They are not supposed to deploy.
Honda only car I know at this time,that did have a recall for closing the door too hard and they would deploy,do not remember the model though.
I have read on 2-or 3 occasions (not here) of a VW side bag going off from a pothole.
You folks are making me very glad I don’t own any air-bag equipped cars.
Back about 10 years ago, there was a recall on Jeep Grand Cherokees because the air bags would deploy if you hit a curb at more than 2 or 3 mph. This was a problem for a lot of women.
