The airbags light comes on in my suburban when the outside temperature is 50 deg F or below. But when the outide air temp is above 50deg F, the airbag light goes out. Could this be a wire connector that expands making contact when is warm? When the airbag light is on, does this mean that the system won’t deploy?
You are correct on both of your suppositions. There is a temperature-related electrical problem somewhere in the airbag system, not necessarily in a wire connector. It will take an experienced mechanic to track it down.
Yes, the system will not deploy whenever the light is on.
Check your owner’s manual to be sure, but I’d assume the airbag system is disabled when the light is on.
