Ac/gas

#1

Turning on the AC consumes gas…Or does it have any connection GAS and AC

#2

Yes, using the AC consumes more gas than not using the AC.

There is some argument about whether the aerodynamic advantage of closed windows cancels the extra gas used to run the AC at highway speeds.

Around town there is no argument. AC uses more gas than no AC.

I believe the difference is about 2 mpg, but it depends on the vehicle, the driver, the weather, etc.

AC compressor power requirements are much less today (on a car of today) than compressors from the 70’s and 80’s.Many views on the gas consuming aspect of running your AC were formed on cars from the 70’s and 80’s,people just don’t think of AC systems as a area of evolution.
