Motor Trend is entertainment; don’t look for good factual info to help you with car operating costs and problems. Almost all new cars behave well; Motor Trend just does not bother prying into the later life of cars. They USED TO do just that; I have several old reports from the 80s or so dealing with how to keep your car “forever”.
Motor Trend car of the year is bought and paid for by the manufacturer. Who ever spends the most money advertising wins the award. Funny how that works.
