Researchers at Virginia Tech have figured-out how to convert PVC plastic into polyalphaolefin, one of the components of modern synthetic motor oils. Because PVC is difficult to recycle through existing methods, this is really good news.
Interesting, I’d be curious to see the long term affects of the “new” oil and how it holds up over time in the real world…

I’d hate to hear; No your warranty is void due to the use of PVC Oil… 
I doubt that any lubricant manufacturer would mess with the good will they have with their customers. They’ll thoroughly test it first before selling it. I say that as an optimist. If anyone wants to be a pessimist, go right ahead.
