A Viable Flying Car At Last?

My feeling is that the main purpose of a flying car would be the same as the VV1 3-wheeler a.k.a. the Persu; to suck in venture capital as long as possible.

Quite a few years back, some guy around here had one of those Amphicars. I’ve seen him tooling around town a few times on a nice summer evening although never had the chance to see it slog into a lake.

This class of aircraft does not enjoy the best safety reputation…Few if any records are kept. Three acquaintances of mine, two of them good friends, have been killed in ultra-lite aircraft crashes…They can be tricky to fly and very unforgiving of pilot errors…

I’ll chime in with this.

“…the compromises are usually not for the faint of heart.”

I’ve read that the fuselage and empennage were shortened for road-worthyness which does indeed make it tricky to fly.
