does anyone have a recommendation for a compact car for my 75 year old mom, thanks.
What kind of car does she like, does she really want a compact? It seems like climbing in and out of a compact might be difficult. FWIW, my 70-something mom has been driving the same type of mid-size buicks forever (she trades them in every 100K miles).
A few years ago my In-Laws wanted a car to replace a 1993 Caprice (his) and a 2000 Hyundai Accent (hers). They told me want they were looking for and I did the research and gave them a list of mid-size sedans. They ended up with a 2003 Chevy Malibu. She drove it four years before she gave it to my sister-in-law. Not long after they got it they were in an accident that probably would have killed the passenger if they had been in the Accent. Neither of them got a scratch. It was more comfortable than the Accent, but still not too big. I believe the Buick Century is the same size.
It comes down to what car your mother is most comfortable with.

I have the vague notion that your Mom is so indifferent to cars that she would be delighted with any compact or midsize car that her dear son gives her. Spin the wheel.
