You need a refrigerant recovery machine to correctly reclaim the refrigerant. The vacuum pump doesn’t produce enough pressure to convert the refrigerant from a gas to a liquid. And using the vacuum pump to transfer the refrigerant from the vehicle to the recovery tank will result in burning up the vacuum pump.
