I have a 2005 Hyundai Sonata. In the past two months, the expansion valve has been replaced twice by the dealer. The A/C makes a hissing noise and eventually stops blowing cold air when the valve has been broken on these two occasions. I am wondering if there is something about the A/C system or car itself that would cause the expansion valve to break?
The “expansion valve” is also called an orifice tube and they don’t “break” they get plugged up with foreign material. The system has a filter/dryer that is supposed to prevent that…
