It has been very wet here in San Antonio, TX the past few weeks. I have had an issue with my landrover not able to accelerate when my engine gets wet. This does not happen when it is dry. I drove it thru a car wash recently and it did the same thing, it was unable to accelerate, barely driveable. Is it my spark plug wires? What can cause my vehicle to do this?
Plug wires. Replace them, they are pretty cheap. Better than not getting out of the way of a speeding semi on a rainy day.
I agree. My car’s a Jeep, not a LR but had similar symptoms. I raised the hood once right after the problem arose and you could see one of the spark plug wires arcing. New wires, no problems!
