I have a 1995 Olds Cutlass convertible that loses Overdrive after 20-30 minutes of driving. I can get it to work again if I restart the car. The same seems to hold true for the cruise control as well. I noticed that the previous owner used epoxy to hold the accelerator cable in place at the throttle Any Ideas?
This is something that a trans shop needs to look at. They need to connect a scanner to the vehicle, monitor the transmission electronics to see whether the falling out of O/D is going to be a condition thats being commanded by the computer or whether its mechanical. Let us know what you find out.
