I took out my alternator to have it rebuilt and didn’t mark the position of the air pump cylinder when I removed the entire unit. There is a “tick” mark on one of the four sections of the pump’s cylinder, but I don’t know if I need to position it a certain way, or if I can just pop it back in. any ideas?
You may have to preposition the alternator and pump to see how the plumbing best fits up. Even if the hoses are not molded, they will have taken a set that will clue you into how the pump will best sit following the final assembly.
