75 min for an oil change?

I don’t pre-fill oil filters, the oil pump will fill the filter in 3 seconds.

When possible being the key word…

And close your eyes for 3 seconds, it is a long time for the bearings to not have oil pressure…

Like I said, when possible, and a old full size oil filter takes longer to fill then a little filter…

And on a horizonal spin on filter, you can still add a little oil to it, and I never said fill it to the top, I said put some oil in the filter before installing…

It’s not that long if there are others ahead of you. Please don’t take it to a jiffy lube type place. The workers there are likely to forget to put a nut or something and let all the oil drain out on your way home since they’re not well trained.

36 seconds of break time - That’s why we wore catheters where I worked.

For folks considering pre-filling new oil filters, remember the oil in that part of the filter goes directly into the engine without being filtered at all. Make sure it has no debris of any kind. IMO it’s safer for the engine just to let the oil pump fill the empty filter.

Are you putting used oil in your vehicle??? I ONLY use new oil, so no issues with debris in the oil…

Now I have reused my transmission fluid when I had to drop the pan for something or another, but I also ran it through a filter before it went into the transmission…

lol … no, I only use new oil. But if I poured oil into the filter it would definitely be possible to accidentally get something into the oil filter that I wasn’t intending, dirt drops from ceiling, something sticks to my hand and winds up in the filter, etc.

Been doing it over 35 years with no issues… lol
I also pay attention while I am adding some oil to the filter…
