5W30 or 10W30 Kendall Syn blend?

1987 Acura Integra 160k in California

Have been using high mileage 10W30
Went to Firestone and they put in 5W30 Syn blend Kendall though I was asking about 10W30.

When I learnt that they stock 10w30, I called back and now they are offering to change it to 10W30 - should I take the offer or not?

Leave it. 5w-30 is fine.

Thanks @MikeInNH

I agree. If you want 10W30 the next time you change oil…do it then.

I agree, but if it bothers you, get it changed out. Sleeping soundly is important too.

The usual choice for cold weather is the 5W30 since the 5 weight is less viscous than the 10 weight. But both have the 30 weight component for normal driving. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Today, Kendall is a part of Conoco-Phillips…Pennzoil-QuakerState is owned by Shell…
