2005 Chevy Trailblazer. Whenever the temperature goes below freezing, the 4x4 selector switch does not work. After the car warms up (10 min), I need to turn it off and then restart it in order for the switch to work. I tried changing the selctor switch, that did not help. Is there some sort of solenoid or actuator that is freezing up?
4WD trucks once had a lever sticking up next to the gear shift…It was marked 4L-4H-N-2H…Simple and it never failed…When that lever disappeared, I knew there was going to be trouble…
Yes, there is an actuator, and yes, it can be tested and replaced without removing the transfer case. The actuator does electrically what that shift lever Old Man Grumpy aka Caddyman was referring to used to do.
