i have a 2000 chevy blazer with 4 wheel drive. every once in a while the dash lights up saying check 4 wheel drive. what does this mean.
What does your Owner’s Manual say about this issue? That is the first, and most reliable, place to check this information.
If your Blazer has an electronic transfer case module (switch) on the dash, it may be acting up from dirty or perhaps loose soldered contacts on the back. This will set off the warning message (among others).
This module can be pried out (gently) with a small screwdriver and the contacts re-soldered and sprayed with a electrical contact cleaner and left overnight to dry before replacing.
You can also check the transfer case and differential for proper fluid levels.
Has it been slipping in and out of gear?
