2018 Hyundai Sonata won't start but dashboard lights work, can jump start

2018 Hyundai Sonata SEL, 38,000 miles

Car won’t start but everything else lights up.
Keyfob battery new.
I can jump start it.
Battery connection cleaned out and tight.
Advance Auto tested the battery and said it’s healthy.
It’s been over 5yrs so the warranty has expired.

Any ideas? TIA

Check the battery connections to make sure they’re clean and tight.

I did that too.

Are you saying that the engine won’t crank over unless jumper cables are connected to the battery?

Tester

Get a new battery. 5 years old is ancient for a battery. I dont care what Advance told you
They are not mechanics.

Tester, that is correct.

Hope that is the problem.

Then, the battery needs replacing.

Sounds like a battery to me also…

Pretty good chance either the battery or starter motor needs to be replaced. If I had that problem I’d first measure the two voltages at the starter motor’s electrical terminals with key in “start”, probing from terminal to starter case. If both are at least 10.5 v and it doesn’t crank the engine, I’d replace the starter motor.
