Turn key to ‘on’…vehicle mileage is displayed at bottom of multi function display…start engine, and mileage reading disappears. NOT trip meter …total vehicle miles.
Once again , you have a warranty use it . Also look in the owners manual for display instruction’s.
With the trip button on the right side of the steering wheel you can change the display to odometer, trip A, trip B or blank display.
Thanks…I’ll try that. Went thru the owner’s manual and under the “obvious” titles, didn’t find anything.

If it works like my 2016 LE, to reset the trip odometers or the avg trip mpg display, hold the button down for a few seconds.
Our 2017 Rav4 has push button start and stop, I guess they must have a variety if packages,
I had someone complain too that they couldn’t read the display.
Their problem was that they only drove during the day, and somehow they had accidently turned down the brightness of the entire dash. I turned up the intensity and all was well.
