2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Backfires!

2017 Cherokee V6 starts easily but when warm backfires when try to accelerate. Idle
when warm is rough.

It’s a feature, that’s why a AAA card is included with the “starter pack”

How is this possible that it is backfiring without illuminating the CEL?

Is this an eco-diesel?

Backfiring on warm accel suggests at least one cylinder is misfiring. Defective coil or spark plug possible. Usually if there’s a serious enough misfire to cause a backfire a diagnostic code (e.g. p0301) would be stored in drivetrain computer memory and check engine light turned on. Anything like that OP?

Suggest to not defer on repair, as expensive damage to catalytic converter possible.
