2017 Ford Fusion - Clearing my codes

engine light come on,remote sta. failed ,I removed positive batt. cable, everything corrected but now engine quit twice and wouldnt start untill red light ,on shift button quit bloinking,

Hi Herwin! Thanks for your post. It may be time to stop clearing the codes and have the vehicle looked at by a mechanic.

Merely clearing the codes without trying to fix the condition that led to the CEL lighting up is the automotive equivalent of touching-up x-rays. Diagnosis–and cure-- is going to be more difficult in both cases.

Clearing the codes just erases the problem from the ECU’s memory. It doesn’t fix the problem. The problem is still there. You need to get it fixed.

You’re saying the remote start failed? Was this a factory option, or did you have it installed by somebody else? They can cause problems.

Stop disconnecting the battery to erase codes.

Can cause all kinds of problems.

Not to mention, the OP added extra risk by disconnecting the positive terminal.
