Some auto parts stores will connect a code reader to your vehicle, for free, and pull any codes. See if there’s such an auto store near you.
Because of the Check Light means a code is stored. And without knowing the code, who knows?

Agreed. And if under warranty, you’ll want to take it to the dealer. They can get snippy if someone starts poking around outside a dealer’s shop. (I think you have a 5 year 60K basic warranty period?)
