hill start not available how to clear?

What is hill start? I know what hill holder is from a 41 Studebaker but I have never heard of hill start. S
I think the person means hill hold feature but I doubt if they will ever return like so many of those from the Ask Anyone site . Certainly have no idea what they mean by clearing .
Commonly known as hill start assist in recent years.
I suspect the brake system has detected a fault and disabled the hill start assist. Check the ABS system for faults.
