I have a question, if you have a very high consumption engine and no low oil level warning light and they change your oil, seal everything up, and tell you to come back in 1,000 miles, what happens if you get 2 quarts low or more before the 1,000? You
wouldn’t know it because the dipstick is sealed.

I was wondering the same thing.
Then, the engine would obviously “fail” the oil consumption test, and it would be overhauled/replaced, gratis.
I’m sure you’re right, once it was towed in, but the dealer’s definition of “fail” is supposed to mean they replace the rings, not the engine.
Which is why I stated…
Replacing the piston rings falls under the definition of “overhauled”.
