A cleanup helps. Setting up a fan to blow fresh air through the car windows, one side to the other, would probably help too.
Have you googled this? Lots of info out there.
No offense but āI bought a great used carā. It just stinks. Maybe take up the habit and be thankful it didnāt transport dogs. I shampoo the interior once a year though so donāt forget all of the carpets and headliner and cardboard door panels. Good luck.
I remember my friend whose dad owned the ford garage and detailed cars after school, had to clean up a docs car that was traded in. The doc smoked a pipe with all the windows closed. I had to listen to all the complaints on getting that car cleaned up for the used car lot. I donāt know what he used back then.
My truckās prior owner smoked cigars, and it took quite some time before that odor finally disappeared. Cigar odor not particularly offensive to me, so I didnāt stress over that so much. Itās all the burn holes in the seats I stressed over ā¦lolā¦
I have used this product before with good results. Same gas they use to kill mold and mildew in librariesā¦
As expected, it has a residual light chlorine odor that seemed to dissipate pretty quickly after treatment.
Iāve seen ads for this product on TV, but I have no idea about its effectiveness:
I ended up buying new seat covers, found good ones at Wet Okole. They are neoprene and can be washed in a washing machine, so it is easy to remove any odor or dust. And the quality is high, because they look new after a year of use.
