cam carrier engine oil seals are leaking
Apparently it’s a fairly common problem. I saw a post on a Subaru forum that a dealer wanted $3300 to fix it on a Forester. Unless it’s either covered under some extended warranty or leaking excessively I’d live with it and keep an eye on the oil level.
Thanks, that is helpful. I have 83,000 miles on the car. Seems like something they would have fixed by now.
I checked and unfortunately Subaru extended the automatic transmission warranty but not for the whole powertrain.
