My Kia Sorento 2014 has frequent / intermittent AC smell, the authorized workshop changed evaproator 2 times in 1 month, still the smell returns intermittently.
Me thinks your evaporator drain is clogged. The service center should have caught that problem.

Might be worthwhile to remove the blower cage, see what’s going on in there as well. If both blower cage & evap drain checks-out ok, whatever is causing the odor problem could be in the air ducts. Likely a mold growing on the inside surface. Ask shop if there is a chemical treatment available. For example a chemical anti-fungal aerosol is drawn into the hvac air intake ports. Could work, and much easier than disassembling the entire hvac duct-work.

I really question that shop. Evaporator drain and cabin filter were two obvious steps. No indication in the original post why the evaporator was replaced.
