I have an issue with my car. After 3 years of buying it new, I now have a rough idle, and markedly decreased gas mileage issue. The same thing happened with my 2012 Elantra, but after 2 years. I’ve taken it to 2 Hyundai dealers, and each has said: “there’s nothing wrong with the car.” My non Hyundai mechanic says it’s most likely due to a too rich gas mixture. I tried a couple of tanks of high test gas, and 4 bottles of fuel injector additive, but so far, nothing has worked. Have other Elantra drivers had the same problems, ,and if so, what did you do to fix it?
How many miles are on your car’s odometer?
Have you consistently maintained it in accordance with the mfr’s maintenance schedule, which has an either/or, whichever comes first proviso regarding BOTH elapsed time and odometer mileage? All too many car owners focus solely on odometer mileage, while ignoring the very vital elapsed time factor for maintenance.

My 2010 Kia Forte and the 3 new vehicles I purchased prior to it came with EPA fuel efficiency ratings. Did Hyundai/Kia somehow falsify the EPA ratings? My Forte consistently betters EPA ratings. Can I get a settlement? lol
From afar, my best suggestion is to have an induction system cleaning performed.
I’ve used 2 bottles of fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank, but no help. I’ve also tried high octane gas; no help.
