When running the air conditioner in my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica I smell exhaust fumes. The smell is not strong, so it took some time for me to convince myself that I was smelling exhaust. Finally, my son also asked about it. What are possible causes and what else should i be looking at?

Go to your nearest exhaust shop ASAP and drive with your windows down.
Cracked or warped exhaust manifolds, leaking exhaust manifold gaskets, broken exhaust manifold studs.
While the engine is idling, momentarily block off the tail pipe(s) and then look along the exhaust system for leaks.
If there is one, it’ll be pretty evident.

Also check for a leaking valve cover gasket dripping oil on a hot exhaust manifold. It can smell a lot like an exhaust leak.
