How is the Manual transmission? Have you had ANY problems with it?
Subaru transmissions (both manual and automatics) are very good unless abused or neglected.
There was an issue 20 some odd years ago with poor synchronizer rings leading to gear gnash but that has been remedied.
The main issue (especially with automatics) is their being damaged when someone inadvertently removes the final drive plug while thinking that it is the engine oil drain plug. Unless caught quickly this can damage a transmission in short order.
