What could cause the accelerator to stick wide open on my 2013 Chevrolet Express 1500 V8?

gummed up electronic throttle body

clean it

relearn it with a factory-level scanner . . . a cheapo code reader will NOT perform this functional test

go to functional tests

then go to module setup

then go to idle learn reset

if you clean the throttle without doing these additional steps, there’s an extremely good chance you’ll have a check engine light accompanied with a messed up idle

Needless to say, any mechanic that uses this factory-level scanner should properly diagnose the vehicle before commencing to cleaning

looking at actual values vs expected values should quickly give you a clue
