2012 MINI Cooper S — bucked, lost power

Started to try to speed up started to buck no power check engine light came on

Blinking CEL. Have it towed.
Even if not blinking, since it is “bucking”, recommend having it towed.

My Corolla acted the same way when one of the coils was failing but that’s pure guesswork. Have the code scanned to be sure.

That is telling you to have the engine checked… That’s what it is for.
As to the reasons, could be many. That’s why the car’s computers store those codes for later retrieval

As has been stated, the possible causes are… many… and the OP needs to have the car’s OBD system checked for stored trouble codes.
