are ipt codes soft codes?
They look oem. they have the kia and hyundai symbol on them

any codes that are on your scanner that dont set off your check engine light are considered soft codes or pending codes. a hard code puts the check engine light.
I’m not very familiar with reading codes. I was under the impression that if a vehicle threw a code it would trigger the check engine light. Is that not correct?
The computer has to see a certain number of faults (like misfires) within a set time period before it will set the check engine light. If the engine has misfires, the computer will still see it. I don’t know if the misfire event is stored after you turn the ignition off or not. I do know you can see the misfires as they happen with the right scanner.
Tester you’re awesome. The sensor finally came in. The jerking stopped and it fixed a weird acceleration problem I was having.
