This will be the second time I need to address lifter problem… I’ve been told by one mechanic to get rid of it.
Debating fixing lifters vs replacing the engine.
From what I read, the lifter noise problem is a common one with this van. Replacing the engine won’t solve a lifter problem but it will drain your wallet. The new engine will have the exact same lifters as the one you have now.
Can I assume you have replaced the lifters once before because of this noise? Did you try and engine oil treatment like Seafoam or Marvel Mystery Oil to quiet the lifters before replacing them? If not, why not? Try it now and if it works sell the van before the noise comes back.
