I have a 2011 VW Eos Komfort that I purchased new with about 60,000 miles. It is in excellent condition but I have been hesitant to open the roof because of all the problems that have been reported. I would be more comfortable if I knew there was a VW Eos trained roof mechanic somewhere near me (SF Bay Area, California). Anyone know the nearest qualified mechanic?

I don’t know any myself, but a dealership shop should be able to do that job nicely. When I owned a VW many years ago, I generally used the dealership for non-diy’er jobs and generally got good results for what seemed a competitive price. The few exceptions involved detailed electrical work. If you don’t want to use your local dealership shop for some reason, ask your friends, co-workers etc, anyone you know who owns a VW or other German car which shop they use. You might also click the “repair shops” link in the red line at the top of this page to see which shops folks here have submitted.
