I have a 2010 Impala with 108,000 miles on it. When i accelerate fast from a stop there is a noise that sounds like you’re going over a rumble strip that comes from the rear of the car. If I accelerate slowly it does not happen. I had my mechanic listen an he thought it may be coming from the transmission. He took a look inside the transmission and other than a few shavings, which he said was normal, he did not see anything out of line. The first i noticed this was about 6 months ago. It never happens for my wife because she drives more conservative than I do. We have had no other problems with the car and it has been a very good, reliable car. I had no plans to look for a car immediately but i was wondering if I should. Thanks for listening. Steve in Ohio
Should check motor and transmission mounts.
Also check the exhaust mounts. If the muffler or pipes have sagged, they may be close enough to rattle on hard acceleration.
