2006 Pontiac Montana

I have a 2006 Pontiac Montana, The little engine picture came up on my dash. I took it to the car parts store to have the code read and it came up as an O2 pre-heater sensor. My husband has been trying to google how to fix it and can’t come up with anything. It doesn’t even come up as to where the part is located. Any help in the right direction would help.

That would be a heated oxygen sensor, not ‘O2 pre-heater sensor’.

In addition the code should have said which O2 sensor, there could be 2 or 4 of them.

It means one of the oxygen sensors is bad. The code will tell you which one. The oxygen sensors screw into the exhaust system. One (or two) is upstream of the catalytic converter and one (or two) is downstream.

A DIY fix like this usually ends up costing more than taking the vehicle to a good independent mechanic.
