2005 Ford Explorer - Starting issues

try to start truck . It will not turn over. I can jump it off at starter with switch on and it will turn over but want start. I think I have a bad switch problem. What do it sound like to you?

It seems to me if the switch were bad it wouldn’t crank. A fuel problem or something like a bad crankshaft position sensor is more likely.

It won’t crank, he has to use a jumper cable from the battery to the starter to get it to crank.
And with the switch turned to on, it still won’t start.

Sounds like a bad ignition switch, or there is no power to the ignition switch.

Try shifting the transmission into neutral, and then see if the engine turns over and starts.
