Since you mention “universal” that makes me think we’re not talking about a direct-fit catalytic converter
If I’m correct, that means you’ll have to cut out the old cat and weld in that universal converter
Do yourself a favor and make sure what you’re planning to do is legal in your state
If your car happens to have california emissions . . . very common, even if the car initially sold in that state . . . several states require the owner to keep the car california-spec compliant. This particularly effects catalytic converters
