Hows it going peoples I have a 2004 nissan pathfinder and I have the engine code p0420 I have been told that it is the rear cat in bank 1 but I have also read that the rear cats wont throw codes so im here for clarification. Is it possible for the rear cat the throw a code if so will it be the same p0420 code or something else (p0420 is the only code I have so im fairly sure it is the cat)
P0420 means that you’re vehicle thinks the cat isn’t working as it should. Your car is still not as smart as a mechanic. An exhaust leak, bad wiring or faulty rear O2 sensor can also cause this code.
