I have a 2004 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 with 139,000 miles on it. My check engine light has come on numerous times over the past six months. I have had many different codes come on during this time. After replacing the spark plugs, wires, ignition coils, all 02 sensors, the cam crank/shaft (?) and putting in a rebuilt computer that matched the exact VIN number of my car, all the codes have been cared for except one – the P0300 (random misfire code). This code has persistently returned numerous times over the last six months. Any suggestions on what it could be?
if your codes are saying random misfire codes it could be a vacuum leak. I also have a dodge intrepid (2000), and had misfire codes and turned out to be a vacuum leak in the return line to my gas tank at the fill neck where you put the gasoline in. Cost me $120.00 to replace the filler tube and solved the problem.
“8 YEARS LATER”
ahem
I’m guessing either one of two things has happened in that time
OP eventually fixed the problem
Or he moved on to another car
In any case, he hasn’t been seen on this website since June 29, 2011
