I own a 2003 Subaru Forester X automatic transmission with 44,000 miles which I’ve been very happy with. The only flaw in the car is that periodically after I shift from reverse to drive and then proceed to accelerate, the car will lurch or there will be a delay in the response from the accelerator, and it kind of feels like the car is skidding. It also happens occasionally when I “floor” it from a dead stop. There’s a delay in response in the first second and then everything is ok. Just wondering what could be causing this quirk?
Have you checked the level of the transmission fluid? Have you ever had the fluid changed?
You may still be under warranty the 5yr portion of the 5year/60,000 miles. I would visit the dealer and find if under warranty and access.
You could have anything from a broken engine or transmission mount to a computer problem.
