Hi - I need to replace the Original Equipment Battery on a 2003 Mazda Tribute. I’ve heard that if I replace the battery, the electronics will reset and some of the items will have to be reset by the Dealer (i.e., lights turning on). I’ve read the owners manual and it doesn’t say that , but online chat groups say it is an issue. What is the real deal? Thanks!
Disconnecting the battery on some vehicles can cause all sorts of problems with the electronics in the vehicle. Read about it here. http://www.aa1car.com/library/battery_disconnect_problems.htm
To avoid any of the problems that can result from disconnecting the battery, use a power back-up system like that shown in the article. About $10.00 from a local auto parts store.
