2003 blazer question

thanks this is the 03 blazer and it has 4 wheel drive that you actuate with a turn type knob. but he did get it fixed the correct way. i talked his dad into getting the parts for him.

I am pretty sure it is the S10 Blazer, at least that is what I was referring to… lol

Thanks for the update…

s10 blazer was only made till 01, 03 with the knob for 2wd, auto, lo, high definately a Trailblazer in my book, as stated it is an 03.

That is interesting as everything I am seeing from multiple sources says early 2005 for the S10 Blazer… including Parts look up from NAPA

Good that OP’s friend was able to purchase a replacment half-shaft. Just curious, would it have been possible to simply replace the broken outer cv joint with a new one, keeping the other parts of the left axle in place? Or are new CV joints not sold separate from thehalf shaft? Or if they are sold separately, maybe they are priced nearly the same as the entire half shaft?

Occasionally I’d get a broken u-joint in my 4wd truck’s rear driveshaft in the back country, no tools for removing driveshaft, so to get back home I’d use some bailing wire to hold the drive shaft off the ground, and power the truck with the front wheels only. Not conducive to high speed driving, but did the job in a pinch.
