Glad to hear you’ve figured it out
Bad new parts are frustrating, because they can potentially make you second guess your diagnosis

I returned AutoZone and got a motorcraft from Wally Mart for about $10 more. You are right on the second guessing. Heart breaking stuff.
Merry Christmas
Agreed on autozone parts . . . it’s really a roll of the dice
Merry christmas
Replacement idle air control motors are normally in the retracted state when installed and it takes time for the engine to idle down. I suspect the replacement IAC motor that you installed had an extended piston blocking off air flow, did you try opening the throttle while starting the engine?
Yes, idle just got higher. Used a small hammer and no change.
You stated that the engine did not start with the replacement IAC.
And? Did you read everything?
Yes, you said that the engine did not start with the new IAC, I asked if you opened the throttle while trying to start the engine and your reply was that you hit it with a hammer but that was the old failing IAC.
So when starting the engine with the new IAC did you try starting the engine with the throttle open?
