Help! We bought a “granny car” with 62000 miles on it but it has developed a deadly misfire on cylinder #3. We have replaced the spark plugs and wires, ignition coil, alternator and fuel injector and the battery. Every time the misfire re-starts. We have noticed it seems to happen AFTER we have opened the hood to check something else and then slammed it shut. Is this knocking the spark plug and/or wire loose? Thanks.
Before you replace any more parts . . .
Compression test, and post the results
Those parts you installed . . . high quality or store brand parts of unknown origin and quality?

Everything but the alternator was a factory part. The alternator was after-market.
