Tester, I am hoping the heat shields are really there, and that the OP doesn’t realize it because the heat shields on my exhaust don’t look like normal heat shields. They run really close to the pipe, and bend where the pipe bends. If civicforever is right, and the pipe doesn’t have them, perhaps he/she can pull some from a junk yard, have them ordered from Honda and have them installed, or have some custom made. If the OP’s new exhaust pipe really has no heat shields, the oil pan will only be part of the problem. There might also be burning carpet on the interior, and if oil ever leaks onto the pipe from, for example, an improperly installed oil filter, the car will catch fire. Then there’s the hazard of dry grass and leaves if there is no bottom heat shield.
