what makes the transmission go to high revs when cold, then even out at lower (normal) revs after a short while?
The engine revs higher on cold mornings and while cold to get up to normal operating temperatures more quickly before reducing RPMs to normal
I don’t think this vague question is about engine idle but a slipping transmission.
Or a transmission failing to shift out of first or second when cold. Start saving for a transmission overhaul.
