My 2002 Chevy Cavalier seems to have a design flaw: the top of the dashboard gets extremely hot, affects the A/C and the part nearest the window is all cracked up now. I want to design an “awning” for it. Any ideas on an awning, or any other ideas?
I’ve seen people glue carpet on the dashboard for that. It’s not a very attractive solution though. In the meantime, try to park in the shade. Or if no shade, park oriented so the windshield is facing away from the sun.
At 16 years old a cracked dash is not unusual . Just get one of those windshield sun blockers for when it is parked . A dash cover will at least hide the cracks.
