I have a 2001 VW Jetta 2.0 ltr, recently while driving home my car died, I tried to restart it nothing battery was dead. I bought a new battery car started right up, but the battery symbol came on the dash.
You need a new alternator, immediately, or the exact same failure will occur. Your new battery is not being charged and will run down very quickly as you drive.
